You're world No. 1, you should know how to play in the wind," Evert criticizes Sabalenka's recent comments
Aryna Sabalenka lost her second consecutive Grand Slam final this year, surrendering to Coco Gauff in three sets at Roland Garros.
The world No. 1, extremely disappointed with the result, didn’t hold back during her press conference, complaining about the windy playing conditions in the final. Chris Evert, a seven-time champion in Paris, shared her thoughts on the matter in comments reported by *The Tennis Gazette*:
"When I heard Aryna say it was her worst final, I was surprised. You have to adjust your game. It’s the same for both players. You need to make those adjustments. If you’re world No. 1 or No. 2, you should know how to play in the wind.
You really have to be ready and prepare your shot faster. You have to understand that and make the court feel smaller than usual. You can’t always aim for the lines if it’s windy. I think Coco adapted better to those conditions.
