Zverev After His Defeat: "My Current Level Is Unacceptable"

Alexander Zverev was eliminated in his opening match at the Monte-Carlo Masters against Matteo Berrettini.
Since his Australian Open final, the German has failed to win more than two consecutive matches. In the press conference, Zverev was brutally honest with himself.
"I'm not satisfied at all—I'm barely winning matches. So far, this is my worst period since my serious injury (suffered in June 2022).
What was decisive was that I played very well in the first set, but after losing my serve in the second, I started playing ten times worse.
My shots became very slow, I stopped moving. I stopped hitting the ball properly, and it's been the same for months. Nothing changes, it's always the same.
Once again, I was the one who lost the match. I think my current level is unacceptable."
