This season, after his lost final at the Australian Open, Alexander Zverev had chosen to play the American clay-court tour in February, also known as the 'Golden Swing'.

A first in the career of the world No. 3 which had not necessarily been successful for him: he was beaten in the quarter-finals in Buenos Aires by Francisco Cerundolo, and then in Rio by Francisco Comesana.

In 2026, the German will revise his plans, as his participation in the ATP 500 in Rotterdam (February 7-15) was officially confirmed this Monday.

Zverev has not set foot in the Netherlands since 2023 and a second-round elimination against Tallon Griekspoor. His best result in the Dutch event remains a quarter-final reached almost ten years ago, in 2016.

As much as I love watching Alcaraz at his best, I'd love to see Alex taking this, he's such a tryer, and getting married and his humour and humility...

Favoritism?

Last year: Sinner seed 1, the organizers schedule Alcaraz on day 1, Sinner on day 2.

This year: Alcaraz seed 1, the organizers schedule Alcaraz on day 1, Sinner on day 3.

That means: 7 matches in 15 days for Alcaraz, 7 in 13 days for Sinner; and no rest day for Sinner between quarter and semis, 1 full day rest for Alcaraz.

Also, on the first very hot day, the organizers schedule Sinner...
