Zverev has perfectly digested Nadal and mastered Goffin to reach the 3rd round at Roland-Garros
There was no hangover for Alexander Zverev after his highly-publicized victory over Rafael Nadal on Monday. He masterfully refocused on the rest of his tournament, dominating a fine David Goffin in three sets (7-6, 6-2, 6-2) and just under 2.5 hours.
The first set was very tight, with the German only making the difference in the tie-break, before unleashing his tennis in the next two sets. Semi-finalist in the last three editions of the tournament and winner of the Rome Masters 1000 10 days ago, the world No. 4 seems to be establishing himself as a serious contender for the title this year in Paris.
Zverev will have the opportunity to confirm this in the 3rd round, where he will face either Tallon Griekspoor or Luciano Darderi on Saturday.
