In just one hour, Jannik Sinner crushed an unrecognizable Alexander Zverev. Struggling with an ankle issue, the defending champion admitted he had "no chance" in that condition.

This Saturday, Alexander Zverev endured an ordeal on the center court of the Rolex Paris Masters, swept aside 6-0, 6-1 in one hour of play by Jannik Sinner.

The German, who was the defending champion in the capital, spoke in the mixed zone after this heavy defeat. He admitted taking to the court while physically compromised:

"Unfortunately, my ankle swelled up a lot after yesterday's match. Honestly, if you're not at 100% against Jannik, if you can't play at your best level, you have no chance. He demonstrated that today.

Of course, I couldn't move properly. I couldn't push off on my serve, which is something very important against him."

Zverev, who still has to play the ATP Finals and the Davis Cup this month, will see a specialist to assess his ankle:

"I will probably go to Munich to see the doctor who operated on my ankle. I will check in with him and see if there is anything we can do to fix it. Maybe we can get an injection, and then I will come to Turin."

Well, Sasha. After you heavyweight match yesterday, you simply would have to cheat and take steroids so that you'd be on par with the Italian who keeps lying about it.

Since February 2022 and the invasion of Ukraine by Russia, Ukrainian sport has been heavily affected by human, structural and economic losses. Tennis has, of course, not been spared. While Ukrainian athletes have had to rethink their entire organization, an entire country, behind the scenes, has had to adapt and change its training conditions. This extends all the way to the highest level, where professional players have spoken out, trying as best they can to help their nation.

As we move to the end of this month and also closing out the year I am wishing all of those following me a Merry Christmas and a Happy/Healthy New Year.

Let's make that wish for all 2000 plus players hoping for 5 wins each day. Hoping ŵhen we open the results page to see all green, and no red. And especially NO CANCELED matches.

From me and my rotti JAZ, I bid you all good night, and see you in...

why did tennis tonic void predictions on the match between Chwalinska and Huergo at the Quito tournament? The match was played to completion and on time. If TT feels the match is one sided, and of course it was, then don't put it up for prediction. This is getting irritating.

The finals are here, and we scramble for the best finish. I've been chasing "King" all year and I was able to shrink the spread a little. Skelp is also closing the gap.

Seasons best to all the regulars in our league.

Will you all be back in the new year.?

Steffi Graf completed a Golden Slam (not just a career Grand Slam) when she was 19. She is the only person to accomplish that, winning the four majors plus Olympic gold the same calendar year.
