Zverev, too strong for Pouille, advances to the second round of the Australian Open
The step was too high for Lucas Pouille in Melbourne. Benefiting from a wild card, the Frenchman was unlucky in the draw, facing Alexander Zverev in the first round.
The German logically won 6-4, 6-4, 6-4 in 2h21 of play. Zverev got off to a good start, despite failing to convert many of his break points (3 out of 18, or 17%).
In the second round, he will face Pedro Martinez, who earlier in the day took advantage of Luciano Darderi's withdrawal.
