The best will win.

Dayana carrying a slight injury or this would be closer

Dayana is a baller on the court,

But Naomi ain't playing if her last set is anthing to go by.

I don't see how defeating Yastremska would be sticking it to Sascha, her career hasn't hit the same heights since she fired him. Sticking it to him would be winning a slam and going back to world number one

Fair enough @ Mocke but a player can be underrated, no one expected Osaka to win the US Open when she won it, she went in underrated so did Sloane.

Everyone knew Sloan was capable, just lazy AF. She beat Serena at the AO

@Mr. Mensa a slight injury, that’s the only thing I’ve heard you get wrong! No injury for Dayana, she’s just fine. Don’t worry I’m not turning into Aemilius ??

Osaka can kill two birds with one stone here. Defeat Dayana as well as her old coach Sascha

Hopefully she can, completely understand why she split from Baijan.

Naomi hasn't shown me that much this year. She seems to be following in Sloane's footsteps of just winning a couple of big games at the beginning of her career and then everything just slows down. Her silly smiles and smirks just don't win tennis matches in my book. Dayana has good chance in this one and the Korean girl will have to step things up a bit if she wants to win this one.

Fair enough @Mocke but Sascha doesn’t want his player to loose to Naomi.

She has errors in her matches, Osaka I mean, but yeah she looks in fine form for someone who hasn't played in months. She might win this tournament

I hope either Osaka or Kontaveit wins the tournament.

Osaka has won some tournaments since the split and beating a player that your former coach has trained to beat you would definitely be win for Naomi against Sascha

I really want Kontaveit to win too , she is due for a big tournament win

I never said she hasnt won a tournament, I said she hasn't been in the same heights. She hasnt gotten past the 4th round at a grand slam, hasn't been world number one - barely in the top ten. Beijing and The Japan open are small tournaments compared to the ones she won with Sascha

But you never know, Kontaveit is one of the most underrated players on tour.

I don't believe there is such a thing as underrated in sports, she doesnt have the titles, ranking, or results to be seen as a serious , contender

? go home Yastremska - I thought this match would be more competitive than this

High quality ball striking so far

Look at the serve percentage, Osaka's first serve is 50. This is just ball bashing, no tactics it seems

@Mocke she’s more consistent than most of the top bunch though. The best players seem to just be the players able to go far in an event here and there.

Consistently average.... it doesnt really help being consistent when the player doesn't win the big titles
