I'm a new Ostapenko fan. Awesome power from both sides, a thing of beauty. But where was Simona's coach Cahill? No slices no drop shots.

Depth of shot and trying to get Ostapenko on the move to her backhand side is a must. Hitting some higher loopy balls as a change up i don't mind especially if you get it deep. It could push Ostapenko off the baseline and its out of her hitting zone. Cant hit passively especially into the forehand side. Attack her 2nd serve there will be loads of break opportunities. Gonna have to serve well and risk a bit more on 2nd serve even if it means a few double faults.

Let's remember that Bouchard made the Wimbledon finals not too older than Ostapenko. We all saw how that ended up. So if the media really wishes for her to become a star, they need to not overhype her.

She's been the most consistent player on the WTA besides Serena over the last 4 years. Been in the top 4 the whole time. Everyone else has been all over the place. If she gets this she totally deserves it.
