You don't have to be arrogant to believe in your own ability to be great at something. People often mistakenly conflate these two things. They are separate. The issue is people who have great self belief often slip into an arrogant mindset, particularly if they surround themselves with the wrong people. For me Zverev is arrogant unnecessarily, and this makes him unlikable.

Courier on ITV4's coverage just pointed out the similarity of Sascha's first QF (also at the French) in 2018 to AFD's, both tough routes including multiple five setters so they were cooked by the time they got there, Thiem mopped up Sascha in 2018 and now Sascha looks set to do the same to AFD, but what a tournament from the young Spaniard 👏

I was trying to explain this to juzer2153 yesterday.

Can't afford to play 5 setters if you have any hope of achieving in a Slam.

Djoko just got away with it yesterday as the last 3 sets were quick.

Alot of ppl say women should play 5 setters.

But men get it easy, women have a short time to win,

.....IF Djoko played as women do, he'd be out after Lorenzo blitzed him in 2 sets.

Rafa lost 2 clay matches this season, but never loses 5 sets, coz of the extra time to comeback & win.

Jim Courier mentioned that point about 5 setters & 3 setters the other day, until he said it I'd never thought of it that way.

Zverev is annoying… I can’t pinpoint what it is about him. But just isn’t that likable to me
