I don't remember seeing two players so dominant, says Bertolucci about Sinner and Alcaraz

Paolo Bertolucci, former Italian tennis player, spoke to La Gazzetta dello Sport about Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz. In his view, there is a significant class gap between these two players and the rest of the ATP tour.

"The US Open is no exception: there are two players clearly ahead of everyone else and only one pursuer, Novak Djokovic.

Despite his incredible experience and history of triumphs, at 38 years old, one cannot expect him to break the current duopoly as was the case in Australia, when he defeated Alcaraz in four sets in the quarterfinals before being stopped by Alexander Zverev.

I don't remember seeing two players so dominant on the tour, even when other big names were in contention, like Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal.

Certainly, they were always the ones closing the door, but throughout the season, players like Tomas Berdych, Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, and David Ferrer managed to break through, one after another.

Today, that is no longer possible; we lack opponents of the same caliber. Moreover, the maximum one can achieve is the world No. 3 ranking—that's just how it is right now.

There are few opportunities and much to be invented for players like Zverev, Daniil Medvedev, and even Lorenzo Musetti.
