Badosa: "Swiatek can't complain (about crowd noise)".

Iga Swiatek made quite an impression at the French Open on Wednesday, using her post-match interview to ask the spectators to remain silent during the points. A point of view that does not meet with unanimous approval among the players.

Paula Badosa took the opposite view from the Pole, explaining that conditions on the side courts outside Court Philippe Chatrier (where Swiatek plays most of her matches) are much noisier, and that this is not necessarily a problem. According to the Spaniard, everyone should also remember what the atmosphere was like in empty stadiums during the Covid period, and not forget how lucky players are to be able to play in front of such crowds.

Paula Badosa: "I don't think Iga (Swiatek) can complain, because I played on courts 8 and 9, where you can hear everything. For example, I can hear the Suzanne Lenglen and Philippe Chatrier courts or courts 6 and 7 during the points.

I think she (Swiatek) is very lucky to be able to play all the time on Philippe Chatrier, where the noise from the other courts doesn't bother her.

But having said that, it doesn't bother me. As I said, I've been playing on smaller courts the last few days, and I could hear so much noise. At that moment, I'm so focused on myself and my match that it doesn't really bother me.

Honestly, I love it when the fans clap and everything. I think it motivates me.

A few years ago, we went through a very difficult situation when we played without fans because of Covid. So now I'm very happy that they're back and I think they're very important for our sport."

In the last match Badosa played against Boulter she had a very loud Spanish mob supporting her. It was like football fans, they were relentless and very off-putting for her opponent. She of all people should not be criticising Swiatek raising this rather unpleasant trend in tennis fans!

Paula Badosa don't compared yourself to Iga Swiatek. she was the women number 1 players in ranking how come you say she's lucky to play in main court.

Im not an Iga fan but she has earned the right to play on the larger stadiums n I appreciate Badosas appreciation for the fans!!!

You should feel fortunate you won the genetic lotto and your brain is wired in such away you can block out noise that distracts others. And what were you seeded? I guess you need all the help you can get.

Yeah, Swiatek is not lucky, she is too good. That a why she playing on main court :) Also, if the other arena are bad than should be better, not the good one to became bad too.

She says Iga has been lucky as if it's some privileged bestowed on her unjustly. Someone should remind her Iga is world number one and plays on main courts, as is her right.
