Sabalenka continues her Parisian health walk
Don't let it be said that Sabalenka doesn't know how to play on clay. After reaching the final in Madrid and Rome, where she was beaten by Swiatek on both occasions, the Byelorussian returned to her winning ways at Roland-Garros, defeating Uchijima (6-2, 6-2).
After a first-round win over Erika Andreeva in just over an hour (6-1, 6-2), the world number 2 this time needed just 58 minutes to reach the third round. Facing Uchijima (83rd, qualifier), Sabalenka was once again in the zone. Sticking to her line, she distributed the game perfectly, tormenting her opponent with overpowering shots (26 winners, 18 unforced errors).
Now safely through to the third round, she could be reunited with her old friend, as she will face the winner of the duel between Badosa and Putintseva.
