Alcaraz wins his fourteenth consecutive victory against Shapovalov at Indian Wells

Carlos Alcaraz continues his journey at the Indian Wells Masters 1000, a tournament that suits him well. Indeed, he has won 18 of his 20 matches played in California.
He is on a streak of 14 consecutive victories, the latest being against Denis Shapovalov, whom he defeated 6-2, 6-4 in 1 hour and 24 minutes of play.
In a post-match interview, he stated: "I think I was better than in the first match. If I succeeded last year, why not this year?
So, I will try to improve. The serve is an aspect I work on a lot. I hope the percentage will be a bit better.
I also made a few mistakes in the second set. I will try to focus on that. Just to show good tennis again.
Nervousness is a good thing. But today, I didn’t feel it as much as in the first round. I was more relaxed. I was calm.
I could think better. I think all players are nervous at the start of a match. It’s a matter of control.
So, I think today and in the first round, I handled the situation quite well. I hope I will continue like this."
He will face Grigor Dimitrov for a spot in the quarterfinals.
