Already withdrawn from Toronto and Cincinnati, Hurkacz will also miss the US Open
Hubert Hurkacz will not return to competition before September.
The Polish player, whose last match dates back to early June in 's-Hertogenbosch, underwent knee arthroscopy three weeks ago. This surgery had already forced him to withdraw from the Toronto and Cincinnati Masters 1000 in recent days.
This Thursday, the 28-year-old player confirmed his withdrawal from the US Open, where he has never progressed past the second round in seven appearances. His exit allows Elmer Moller, ranked 107th in the world, to compete in his first main draw at Flushing Meadows.
