Mirra Andreeva played her first career match at Pietrangeli Court in Rome against Clara Tauson. The Russian won in three sets, with a score of 5-7, 6-3, 6-2.
After the match, she expressed her awe for Pietrangeli Court: "Yes, it’s the first time I’ve played on this court, though I’ve practiced here several times. The court is very, very cool, very beautiful.
When I serve, I look at all the statues around me, and the atmosphere feels like you’re playing at the Colosseum.
The crowd supported us a lot, the vibe was really great."
In the quarterfinals, Andreeva will face Coco Gauff.
