Arthur Fils Draws Inspiration from Roger Federer: "Usually, I Like to Take My Time"

Facing Daniil Medvedev this Thursday in the quarterfinals of the Indian Wells Masters 1000, Arthur Fils seems to be finding his rhythm.
After defeating Marcos Giron in three sets (6-2, 3-6, 6-2) in the previous round, the Frenchman is gradually fine-tuning his game, particularly his serve.
The world number 18 has decided to shorten the time he takes between serves, taking inspiration from the Swiss legend Roger Federer:
"Usually, I like to take my time (between each point), but this time I told myself that I needed to bring more energy and chain my serves directly. Since I was feeling good and the points weren’t very long, there was no problem moving from one serve to another.
Maintaining the rhythm or disrupting the opponent's is one of the most important things, which usually works well for the best players in the world. When we watched Federer play, he took ten seconds between one point and another," explained the Frenchman to our colleagues at Tennis World.
