At 40, Wawrinka qualifies for the Aix-en-Provence Challenger final
Just weeks after celebrating his 40th birthday, Stan Wawrinka continues to impress. The Swiss player reached the Aix-en-Provence Challenger final this Saturday after defeating Borna Gojo in straight sets (6-4, 6-4).
In tomorrow’s final, he will face Borna Coric, who is set to return to the Top 100 on Monday. The Croatian will compete in his fourth final of the year on the secondary circuit, having already claimed titles in Lugano, Thionville, and Zadar.
The two last clashed in late March in Naples, where Wawrinka won 6-2, 6-3. His last Challenger title dates back to the 2020 Prague tournament.
