Berrettini Will Not Compete in Gstaad to Defend His Title
Right after the end of Wimbledon, the European tennis season will continue on clay, starting with the tournaments in Gstaad and Bastad.
Last year, Matteo Berrettini won in Gstaad before triumphing in Kitzbühel. The Italian, heavily affected by his injury-plagued 2025 season and his early exit at Wimbledon, has decided to withdraw.
He mentioned to the media his intention to take a break to "reflect on his future."
Other notable withdrawals include Otto Virtanen and Cristian Garin. These three absences open up spots in the main draw for Tristan Boyer, Jaime Faria, and Terence Atmane.
