Boisson to Play WTA 250 Cleveland Tournament to Prepare for the US Open
Loïs Boisson recently claimed her first WTA title. On the clay courts of Hamburg, the French player defeated Anna Bondar in the final, simultaneously climbing to 44th in the rankings.
Forced to withdraw from the WTA 1000 in Montreal due to a left adductor injury, the 22-year-old now has her full schedule confirmed for the upcoming North American hardcourt swing.
The Roland-Garros semifinalist is expected to return to competition at the WTA 1000 in Cincinnati, which begins on August 7. Following that, Boisson will compete in the WTA 250 tournament in Cleveland on August 17 before heading to New York for the US Open.
After a first-round qualifying loss at Wimbledon to Carson Branstine, the Dijon native will make her second main-draw appearance at a Major, following her fairy-tale run in Paris where she defeated three seeded players—Mertens, Pegula, and Andreeva.
