Cilic to skip Australian Open for Oeiras Challenger

Marin Cilic has already used his protected ranking (PR) to play in the Australian Open in 2024. Consequently, being ranked 180th in the world, the Croatian would have had to go through the qualifying rounds.

The former 2018 finalist decided to skip the tournament and enter the Oeiras Challenger in Portugal.

Two other players, Hamad Medjedovic and Alexander Ritschard, have decided not to travel to Australia.

Marin Cilic
83e, 722 points
Hamad Medjedovic

Alexander Ritschard
