Collins to End Her 2025 Season After the US Open

Danielle Collins’ season has been far from easy. The American, who was still in the top 10 last year and ranked 11th at the start of the year, has now dropped to 57th in the rankings.
Initially set to retire at the end of 2024, the 31-year-old Collins ultimately reversed her decision in October and committed to at least one more season.
However, since January, things haven’t gone as planned for the 2024 Miami WTA 1000 champion. Collins’ best performance this year was a semifinal run at the WTA 500 tournament in Strasbourg, where she was defeated by Liudmila Samsonova.
Recently, the American, who has been dealing with a herniated disc, clapped back at her critics on social media. In any case, Collins has already confirmed that the US Open will be her final tournament of the 2025 season, though she hasn’t specified whether she’ll return to the tour in 2026.
“I’m on the road to recovery. See you soon in New York for my last tournament of the year,” the player wrote on Instagram. As a result, Collins will not participate in the Asian swing following the season’s final Grand Slam in Flushing Meadows.
