Copil Announces End of His Short Collaboration with Shnaider

Diana Shnaider will once again need to find a new coach. The 21-year-old Russian player, ranked 12th in the world, will not continue her partnership with Marius Copil. The 34-year-old Romanian professional tennis player had joined Shnaider's team on a trial basis during the Roland-Garros tournament.
After the fortnight, the collaboration between Copil and Shnaider does not appear to have been fruitful, as the Romanian will not continue working alongside the native of Jigouliovsk. The former world No. 56 confirmed the news on his social media.
"My very first tournament as a coach. Second round in singles and semifinals in doubles here at Roland-Garros. Three great weeks of tennis. Thank you, Diana Shnaider—I wish you the best of luck in your professional playing career. I look forward to seeing what’s next for me in the coming weeks," Copil wrote on his X account (formerly Twitter).
In the French capital, Shnaider cleared the first round in singles against qualifier Anastasia Soboleva (7-6, 6-2) before being eliminated in the next round by another Ukrainian, Dayana Yastremska (7-5, 7-5).
In doubles, she reached the semifinals with her regular partner Mirra Andreeva but suffered a heavy defeat against the eventual tournament winners, Sara Errani and Jasmine Paolini (6-0, 6-1).
After spending a few weeks with Dinara Safina, Shnaider has now experienced another trial with Marius Copil but hopes to find a long-term coach to support her moving forward.
