De Minaur Ends Cazaux's Run at Wimbledon
Facing De Minaur in the second round of Wimbledon, Cazaux fell in four sets (4-6, 6-2, 6-4, 6-0). Despite taking the first set, the challenge proved too great for the Frenchman today, as he gradually saw the 11th seed take control of the match.
After a determined run in the qualifiers, Cazaux had earned his spot in the main draw. Having already fought a grueling battle against Walton in over four hours during the first round, the 22-year-old player this time laid down his arms after 2 hours and 30 minutes. Struggling, he notably suffered a 6-0 defeat in the final set.
As for the world No. 11, he advanced to the third round and will face the winner of the match between Machac and Holmgren. With two grass-court titles to his name since the start of his career, the Australian will aim to surpass last year’s quarterfinal finish.
