De Minaur Makes a Strong Start in Barcelona Against Etcheverry

Alex de Minaur has bounced back from the disappointment of his lost semifinal in Monte-Carlo against Lorenzo Musetti and is now making his mark in Madrid.

The Australian needed just 1 hour and 22 minutes to defeat Tomas Martin Etcheverry in the first round. It was a controlled match for de Minaur, who didn’t face a single break point and successfully converted both of the break opportunities he created.

In the second round, he will face Jacob Fearnley, who upset Roberto Carballes Baena the day before.
