Del Potro Praises Djokovic: "As Long as He's Still Active, He's the Best"
Del Potro and Djokovic have faced each other 20 times, with a clear advantage for Nole (16 wins). Their last meeting dates back to the 2019 Rome Masters 1000, where the Serb once again prevailed in three sets, 4-6, 7-6, 6-4.
However, the 37-year-old player is having a tough year with four early exits and no titles won.
In an interview shared by Tennis World Italia, the Argentine discussed the immense resilience of the Grand Slam record-holder. The 2009 US Open champion has no doubts about the "Joker's" ability to chase his 25th major title:
"I think winning a Grand Slam is something personal for him. He can win more Grand Slams. In terms of tennis, he is the best. He has a lot of experience. If he’s physically fit, he can handle all of it and succeed.
It would be amazing for tennis if he could win another one after a long period, just like he did in Paris with the Olympic medal. As long as he’s still active, he’s the best."
