Djokovic falls in the first round in Monte-Carlo, defeated by Tabilo
Djokovic is defeated in the first round by Tabilo (6-3, 6-4) and loses once again in the opening round in Monte-Carlo after 2022 and 2016. The Serbian player seemed completely absent, committing 29 unforced errors.
"This year has been difficult. The nerves were somewhat present. I tried to remember what I did well the last time. Thank God, I served well today. It helped me a lot to regain composure after the first game. I think it was an unreal match.
I've experienced difficult personal times. But we tried to handle them. Match after match, we relaxed a bit. I am very happy to feel better now," said Tabilo at the end of the match.
The Chilean thus secures his second victory against Djokovic after Rome in 2024, and he will face the winner of the match between Dimitrov and Vacherot.
