Djokovic, the oldest player to reach the quarterfinals of all four Grand Slam tournaments in a single season
For his 19th US Open qualification, Djokovic has advanced to the quarterfinals after defeating Struff (6-3, 6-3, 6-2). This showcases the Serb's impressive consistency, as he has also reached this stage in the last three Grand Slams.
But that's not all. As revealed by the X account, Jeu, Set et Maths, the Serb has become the oldest player to achieve this feat, surpassing Serena Williams in 2015 (33 years and 352 days) and 2016 (34 years and 350 days), as well as Nadal in 2019 (33 years and 97 days).
For reference, the legend with 24 Grand Slam titles also holds the record for the most Major quarterfinal qualifications (since the start of the Open Era). With 64, he leads Federer (58), Evert (54), and Serena Williams (54).
Set to face Fritz for a spot in the semifinals, he will attempt to reach his fourth Grand Slam semifinal this season.
