"Sometimes it's hard to accept that reaching the quarterfinals or semifinals isn't enough," Alcaraz responds to criticism about his consistency

Impressive since the start of the US Open, Alcaraz advanced to the quarterfinals by defeating Rinderknech (7-6, 6-3, 6-4). Nevertheless, despite having five Grand Slam titles and 8 Masters 1000 wins, many criticize his inconsistency in certain matches or tournaments.
He addressed these criticisms in an interview shared by Punto de Break:
"Probably many people will say I'm not as consistent as I should be, but at the same time, I have good results and I show it in the big tournaments.
Sometimes it's hard to accept that reaching the quarterfinals or semifinals isn't enough, but you have to see how it went and consider whether those quarterfinals might have been a good result."
To secure a spot in the final four, he will have to defeat the Czech player Lehecka (21st) along the way.
