Djokovic warns of competition for 2025: "I have the feeling that I can challenge Sinner, Alcaraz and Zverev".
Novak Djokovic is not satisfied. Having won the only major title missing from his trophy cabinet during the summer at the Olympic Games, the Serb is still hungry for more.
To prepare for 2025 in the best possible way, the man who has won 24 Grand Slam titles has decided to call on Andy Murray.
The Scot, who retired from the courts in August, will be working with his friend and former rival on the ATP circuit.
In an interview with the Gazzetta Dello Sport, Djokovic confided that his main objective was to win another major.
"In 2024, I didn't play much. Apart from my gold medal and the Wimbledon final, it was probably my least exciting season in the last ten years," he concedes.
"Despite everything, I still feel I can play at a high level. Sinner and Alcaraz have established themselves as the two best players in the world, not forgetting Zverev.
They'll be the main contenders for Grand Slam and other titles. Physically and mentally, I'm ready to get back on the court and play my tennis," he assures us.
"I have the feeling that I can challenge these guys and that my experience can be useful. Next year, I'll be playing more tournaments, and the Grand Slams will be my priority.
I'll give my all to win, body permitting of course. I'm feeling good, I still have some time to rest and analyze what I can improve to be even better than last year."
