Draper Stopped Early in Miami by Mensik

Fresh off his title win in Indian Wells, Jack Draper failed to carry his momentum into Florida, losing to an outstanding Jakub Mensik (7-6, 7-6).
With high expectations surrounding Draper, the newly crowned world No. 6 in the ATP rankings, the draw for the Miami Masters 1000 had handed him a tough first-round match against Jakub Mensik, the world No. 54 and a rising star of Czech tennis.
The match started perfectly for the Brit, as he secured an early break to lead 2-0. However, he gave it back at 3-2, and the battle intensified between the two players on the Grandstand court.
On a stellar day (37 winners and 21 aces), Mensik ultimately made the difference, clinching two tiebreaks with scores of 7-2 and 7-3.
Undoubtedly worn out by his victory in California, Draper will now take some time to rest before the start of the clay-court season.
For Mensik, the adventure in Florida continues, as he advances to the third round, where he will face the winner of the match between Alexei Popyrin and Roman Safiullin.
