Draw for the ATP 250 Los Cabos Tournament: Rublev, Davidovich Fokina, and Shapovalov Set, Two French Players in the Running in Mexico
Next week, the ATP 250 Los Cabos tournament will take place. Typically held in February, the Mexican event has been moved to July this year in the calendar.
The organizers have lamented several withdrawals in recent days, including Lorenzo Musetti, Cameron Norrie, Brandon Nakashima, Borna Coric, and defending champion Jordan Thompson.
As the top seed in Mexico, Andrey Rublev will enter the competition in the round of 16 against the winner of the match between Taro Daniel and Alex Hernandez. One of the two French players in the draw, Quentin Halys, is also exempt from the first round as the No. 4 seed and will play in the second round against Alibek Kachmazov or Juan Pablo Ficovich.
In the other half of the draw, Denis Shapovalov awaits his first opponent, who will be either Colton Smith or a qualifier. Adrian Mannarino, who will play the Newport Challenger final this Sunday, will face James Duckworth and could meet Alejandro Davidovich Fokina if he advances.
