"Every match is a fresh start," says Sinner before defending his title in Halle

Jannik Sinner is set to compete in the famous 'post-tournament' event as he makes his grass-court debut this season. Less than a week after his heartbreaking loss to Carlos Alcaraz in the Roland-Garros final, the Italian is eager to get back on track immediately.
After missing three match points against the Spaniard, the world No. 1 recharged for a few days with friends and family before returning to work. At a press conference in Halle, Sinner is ready to move on as he prepares to defend the title he won last year in the German city.
"I try to forget the negatives and focus on what I can do here in Halle. For me, playing another tournament is a good thing because every match is a fresh start, and I have to be mentally ready to give my all on the court.
That’s why being here in Halle is something positive for me. I’ve had a few sleepless nights, but I think each day gets better. My family supports me, as do my friends. That’s the most important thing for me.
The first grass-court practice went well. I hadn’t played since Paris, so the feel on the court wasn’t perfect, but it will improve," he told Tennis World Italia.
