I visited my parents, my friends, we had a barbecue," Sinner reflects on post-Roland-Garros
Present in Halle to compete in his first grass-court tournament of the season, Sinner was questioned by the media about his lost final at Roland-Garros. The Italian explained that he needed to do very simple things to decompress after the adrenaline of such an event:
"The week after Paris was very quiet. I visited my parents, we had a barbecue, I met up with friends, and we played table tennis. Normal things. That’s what I needed after a stressful tournament.
The most important thing is to grow the sport and show that we are athletes who give everything. You chase every ball, you leave it all out there. The final against Alcaraz was an incredible, high-level match."
The world No. 1 also addressed the missed match points against Alcaraz in the fourth set:
"But it happens—it’s happened to the best in the world. Either I focus on the missed match points, or I think about the fact that I’ve never played like this on this surface and that I was at my best for five and a half hours without complaining about anything. It happens.
