Fils makes his withdrawal from the Doha tournament official
Arthur Fils was unable to defend his chances 100% in Rotterdam. Despite his first-round victory over Constant Lestienne, the Frenchman, ranked 19th in the world, injured his thigh in his next match against Daniel Altmaier, after which he was eliminated in three sets.
Fils subsequently confirmed his withdrawal from next week's ATP 250 tournament in Marseille.
But that's not all, as the 20-year-old has also had to withdraw from the ATP 500 tournament in Doha, which starts on February 17.
On Instagram, Arthur Fils gave his news via a story containing a short message.
"Injured at the Rotterdam tournament, I have to withdraw from the Marseille and Doha tournaments. Now it's time to recover and start again stronger", wrote the main player on the social network.
