"Honestly, I can't believe it," Anisimova, euphoric after her first Wimbledon final qualification

After a stellar performance, Anisimova stunned world No. 1 Sabalenka in the Wimbledon semifinals. At just 23 years old and following years of psychological struggles, the American will aim to claim her first Grand Slam title this Saturday. Speaking to the organizers after her victory, the player shared her overwhelming emotions:
"Honestly, I can’t believe it. Aryna is a tough opponent, a fierce competitor, and a role model. We’ve had so many hard-fought battles, and coming out on top today is really special for me. I was so happy to have so much support, especially against the world No. 1. A huge thank you to everyone—my family, my sister, my nephew…
"It’s been such a journey these past few weeks. Thank you for being by my side. Honestly, if you’d told me I’d be in the Wimbledon final, I wouldn’t have believed you. I’ll stay here a little longer, but I’ll take a look at the other semifinal—I’m sure it’ll be a great battle."
The youngest American to reach the Wimbledon final since Serena Williams in 2004, she will now face the winner of the other semifinal between Swiatek and Bencic.
