Swiatek faced Bencic in the Wimbledon semifinals. The two players had only met once before on grass, right here in 2021, with a hard-fought victory for the former world No. 1 (6-7, 7-6, 6-3).

In this new duel, the Polish player left her opponent with only crumbs. Unshakable on her service games, she displayed impressive technical precision throughout the match. Effective in key moments (4/6 break points converted), the 24-year-old won 84% of her points after her first serve, not to mention her sharp returns. In just over an hour, she secured a 6-2, 6-0 victory.

It’s worth noting that the Swiss player seemed hampered by a toe injury sustained in her previous match against Andreeva. This was evident from a hole cut in her shoe to relieve the pain. She also took a fall during the first set.

After reaching her first semifinal in London, Swiatek continues her momentum by advancing to the final of the legendary English tournament. She will face American Anisimova.
