Jannik Sinner will begin the US Open as the defending champion, with the world No. 1 ranking also at stake against Carlos Alcaraz.
The Italian, forced to withdraw in the final in Cincinnati, took time to recover this week before reappearing yesterday on Arthur Ashe court for his first practice session.
During Friday's media day, he spoke about his physical condition two days before the start of the tournament:
"First of all, I am happy to be back here. It's a great tournament. Of course, it's the last Grand Slam of the season, so naturally, the motivation level is very high.
Physically, I feel good. I am almost fully recovered, even if I am not yet at 100%. But I hope to be ready in a few days. Everything should be fine for the tournament.
