My goal is to win as many Grand Slams as possible and become world No. 1," Rune continues to display his ambitions ahead of the US Open start.
Holger Rune is experiencing a 2025 marked by some standout performances (finals at Indian Wells, title in Barcelona), but also disappointing results, which translate to a lack of consistency and steadiness week after week.
Yet, the Dane remains focused and continues to believe in his chances of winning the biggest titles on the tour and overcoming Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz, as he explained to The Guardian:
"My goal is to win as many Grand Slams as possible and become world No. 1. My problem isn't beating these guys. My problem is being consistent and going deep in every tournament to have more chances to face them more often, because in those moments I feel I elevate my level of play.
It's obvious that Carlos and Jannik, when they face each other, raise their level. They push each other like crazy, and that's a very exciting aspect of this sport. So having a record against them, and even against Novak Djokovic when he was at his best, makes me believe I can do it. It's just about maintaining consistency.
