"I can't believe what I've done," Bublik's emotion after his title in Kitzbühel
With a Gstaad-Kitzbühel double, Bublik delivered two weeks of outstanding performances. The Kazakh secured his 7th career title after defeating Cazaux in Austria (6-4, 6-3) and couldn't contain his joy when speaking to the organizers:
"Thank you, everyone! I can't believe what I've managed to achieve over the last two weeks. The conditions were completely different, too—today with the rain. It was his first final, which is never easy, while this was my 14th, so it's a completely different situation. I wish him all the best, it was really tough against him, and I think he has a very bright future ahead."
Since Paris, Bublik has claimed 17 wins, including 3 titles—a first in his career. Withdrawn from Toronto, the player has yet to announce his schedule ahead of the US Open.
