I don't think the final can be better than the last one," Sinner looks ahead to his duel against Alcaraz at Wimbledon
Jannik Sinner reached his first Wimbledon final after defeating Novak Djokovic in straight sets (6-3, 6-3, 6-4).
In his on-court post-match interview, the world No. 1 expressed his pride at reaching the tournament's final stage before looking ahead to his upcoming match against Carlos Alcaraz:
"I can't believe it. I used to watch the tournament on TV when I was a kid. I never imagined I’d get to play a final here. I know how hard my team and I have worked for this. My dad and brother arrived today, which makes this moment even more special.
I felt really good on the court. I served very well and moved much better. I think we all saw in the third set that he was a bit injured. I tried to stay calm and play my best tennis. I felt I played well in the important moments. We’ll see what happens in the final.
It’s a real honor to share the court with Carlos. He’s one of the players I admire—I love watching him play. I don’t think the final can be better than the last one, that seems impossible (smiles).
