I feel at peace with my decision," says Pospisil before playing the last tournament of his career in Toronto

Vasek Pospisil will end his professional playing career following the Toronto Masters 1000, which began today.
The Canadian, aged 35, has drawn Facundo Bagnis for what could be his last match on the ATP circuit. Speaking at a press conference yesterday, Pospisil discussed his carefully considered decision:
"I feel good, I feel at peace with my decision. I am excited to step onto the court one last time. I also feel lucky to be able to do it in front of my friends and family. It's the right place to end my career. As I said in my statement, it's the right time for me to go.
The week has been very intense, the last four or five days have been very impactful. But I've known for months that I wanted to leave everything this week. I am ready to turn the page. I look forward to ending my career, even though I know I will miss it. It has been almost my whole life. I've been playing among the elite since I was 18; it's time."
The former world No. 25 was also asked about his three greatest career memories:
"The Wimbledon title (in 2014 in doubles) and the Davis Cup (2022) are in the top two spots, no doubt about it. For third place, my first appearance in Montreal. It was a very crazy and very emotional week for me.
It was the moment when I broke through, my first big result on a big stage. When you do something for the first time, that memory stays etched in your mind forever. It gives me a lot of emotions.
