Amanda Anisimova suffered a historic defeat in the Wimbledon final, losing to Iga Świątek without winning a single game.

Such a result had not occurred in a tournament final since 1911, long before the Open Era. In response to this crushing loss, Daria Kasatkina, Coco Gauff, and Nick Kyrgios shared messages on social media to support Anisimova.

Kasatkina: "I just want to give Amanda a hug."

Gauff: "There’s so much to be proud of, Amanda. Keep your head up."

Kyrgios: "Amanda!!! You’re a Grand Slam finalist!!! Hold your head high.

I just want to give Sinner or Alcaraz (whomever loses tomorrow) more money than Anisimova since their length of play, quality of play, viewership, attendees and even balls will be different. With all these differences why pretend they are deserving of the same pay? They are no closer to the ATP than the WNBA is to the NBA.

ad6771 you keep making this statement and although I agree the quality of this final was poor, it is only 1 final and will vary tournament by tournament. I personally believe men's tennis is boring with the exception of a few players and women's tennis is nowhere near the poor viewership of the WNBA so don't be disingenuous.

The impact of the war on tennis in Ukraine: financial aid, foundations, governing bodies and all‑round headaches

Since February 2022 and the invasion of Ukraine by Russia, Ukrainian sport has been heavily affected by human, structural and economic losses. Tennis has, of course, not been spared. While Ukrainian athletes have had to rethink their entire organization, an entire country, behind the scenes, has had to adapt and change its training conditions. This extends all the way to the highest level, where professional players have spoken out, trying as best they can to help their nation.

As we move to the end of this month and also closing out the year I am wishing all of those following me a Merry Christmas and a Happy/Healthy New Year.

Let's make that wish for all 2000 plus players hoping for 5 wins each day. Hoping ŵhen we open the results page to see all green, and no red. And especially NO CANCELED matches.

From me and my rotti JAZ, I bid you all good night, and see you in...

why did tennis tonic void predictions on the match between Chwalinska and Huergo at the Quito tournament? The match was played to completion and on time. If TT feels the match is one sided, and of course it was, then don't put it up for prediction. This is getting irritating.

The finals are here, and we scramble for the best finish. I've been chasing "King" all year and I was able to shrink the spread a little. Skelp is also closing the gap.

Seasons best to all the regulars in our league.

Will you all be back in the new year.?

Steffi Graf completed a Golden Slam (not just a career Grand Slam) when she was 19. She is the only person to accomplish that, winning the four majors plus Olympic gold the same calendar year.
