I Need to Recover," Sinner Explains His Absence in Toronto
Jannik Sinner is among the long list of absentees for the Toronto Masters 1000. The Wimbledon champion will miss this edition, which begins just two weeks after Wimbledon.
Speaking to Eurosport, he explained his absence: "I’m really disappointed to miss the National Bank Open, especially because I have very fond memories of my matches in Canada.
Winning this title in Toronto two years ago marked the beginning of a truly special moment for me, but after discussing it with my team, I need to recover.
I want to thank Karl Hale, the tournament director, for everything he does to support us as players, and I look forward to returning to Canada and Toronto in the future to play in front of those amazing fans.
