I would have preferred a one-week tournament like Monte-Carlo, Sinner's response regarding the new Masters 1000 format

Sinner has arrived in Cincinnati to defend his title. With 80 wins and only 5 losses on hard courts since Beijing 2023, the Italian seems unstoppable on this surface. For his opening match, he will face the winner of the Kopriva vs. Galan encounter.

During the press conference, the world number one addressed several topics, including the new Masters 1000 format. Like many players on the tour, he prefers a much shorter format:

"Now, there are a lot of tournaments like this one that are becoming longer. But we, the players, can’t control everything. For the fans, it’s good because they get to enjoy two weekends of great tennis. Still, if you ask me to choose, I would have preferred a one-week tournament like Monte-Carlo, for example. Yes, I prefer that. But it’s okay.
