It was somewhat of a fiasco," Petkovic analyzes the Wimbledon final
Jannik Sinner got his revenge on Carlos Alcaraz by defeating the Spaniard in the Wimbledon final. However, the match wasn’t as spectacular as the Roland-Garros final between the two.
Andrea Petkovic, on her Substack, states: "It was the match everyone hoped to see. It was the match no one dared to hope for.
And yet, there it was, right before our eyes, and it was somewhat... a fiasco.
At least for a set and a half, before Jannik Sinner found his rhythm. It might sound ridiculous to say about two of the best players on the planet right now, but they seemed tense.
The stress caught up with them. The pressure of reliving the drama of the Roland-Garros final was too much to bear. Jannik was the first to shake it off. His serve improved, his movements became smoother.
Carlos Alcaraz, on the other hand, never really managed to shed his tension.
