Once again, the Roland-Garros crowd made headlines for the wrong reasons. After the frank remarks from Miomir Kecmanovic and Jaume Munar, Holger Rune spoke out on Friday following his five-set victory over Quentin Halys.

Frustrated after losing his service game at 5-5 in the third set, Rune threw his towel to the side of the court. At that moment, a spectator began heckling him. The Dane, visibly unsettled, demanded the fan’s ejection and got his way.

During the press conference, he elaborated on the incident:

"I threw my towel next to the bin, and the guy started shouting at me aggressively. He reached out his hand. I found it strange because he shouldn’t interact with a player on the court. I told the supervisor I wanted him removed because it made me uncomfortable.

They said they’d review the footage, and I assume they did because I didn’t see him for the rest of the match. It’s not pleasant when the crowd gets aggressive. I didn’t like it.

I respect everyone, and I didn’t do anything wrong. I didn’t even get a warning for it. We’re here to play tennis, and the spectators have a duty to respect us as much as possible.

Hello I'm new

7j

I am surprised about relatively low attendance at Roland Garros which was the most popular slam 20+ years ago. I myself love it as well as really loving aus and us opens. I don't care about Wimbledon, sometimes maybe I can watch women's tennis. I hate Wimbledon's white dress code, I feel like I am watching junior tennis...I watched very few matches like Graf davenport final in 1999 the last time.....
