Kader Nouni, chair umpire, during the match between Jabeur and Ostapenko: "Wait until the end of the point before shouting Yalla".
A funny sequence during the 1st round match between Ons Jabeur and Jelena Ostapenko in Abu Dhabi.
After the match had started with just two games played, chair umpire Kader Nouni had to calm down the spectators who had turned out in force to cheer on Jabeur.
So, after a point won by Ostapenko, Nouni made an announcement rarely heard on the circuit:
"Ladies and gentlemen, please wait until the end of the point before shouting Yalla."
Ons Jabeur won the match in two tight sets (7-6, 7-5) to reach the 2nd round in Abu Dhabi.
