Leo Borg, son of Björn Borg, after his home victory: "I proved I belong on the tour"

Two and a half years after his very first ATP success, Leo Borg scored a victory on the soil of his origins. In Stockholm, the son of legend Björn Borg answered journalists' questions.

At 22 years old, Leo Borg experienced a moment he won't soon forget. On the center court of the BNP Paribas Nordic Open, at home in Stockholm, the young Swede secured the second ATP victory of his career. Facing Austrian Sebastian Ofner, ranked 140th in the world, Borg displayed solidity, winning 6-3, 6-4.

"It's really special. Winning here, at home in Stockholm, is huge. I'm especially happy with my level. I proved, to myself and to the fans, that I belong on this tour. I was injured for a while and I doubted. Today, I gave my best. I rediscovered the joy, and the crowd carried me. It was amazing," he shared with the ATP microphone.

His next opponent? Denis Shapovalov, former tournament winner in 2019 and former world top 10.
