Mboko, the WTA Tour Revelation: "She Has Had an Exceptional Season" According to Mouratoglou

Two titles, a top 20 ranking, and stunning maturity: the young Canadian has delivered a season that will be remembered, to the point of being endorsed by Patrick Mouratoglou himself.

The WTA has revealed several young talents this season, such as Victoria Mboko, 19, who played her very first tournaments on the main tour this year.

After appearances in Miami and Rome, the young Canadian made it through qualifying at Roland-Garros and Wimbledon, reaching the third and second rounds respectively.

Then, during the North American tour, she surprised the tennis world by winning the WTA 1000 in Montreal, in front of her home crowd.

"She has had an exceptional season"

An unexpected performance that she confirmed several months later by winning a second title in Hong Kong, synonymous with a top 20 ranking. For Patrick Mouratoglou, Mboko represents "the future of women's tennis":

"She has had an exceptional season while still being outside the top 100. This year, she literally exploded, even winning a WTA 1000. After that, she went through some tougher moments, as the pressure suddenly became very intense.

She arrived as a true revelation on the WTA tour. The quality of her game, her physical abilities, her personality... She has everything it takes to succeed and clearly embodies the future of tennis. I am really happy to see her progress so quickly."

As we move to the end of this month and also closing out the year I am wishing all of those following me a Merry Christmas and a Happy/Healthy New Year.

Let's make that wish for all 2000 plus players hoping for 5 wins each day. Hoping ŵhen we open the results page to see all green, and no red. And especially NO CANCELED matches.

From me and my rotti JAZ, I bid you all good night, and see you in...

why did tennis tonic void predictions on the match between Chwalinska and Huergo at the Quito tournament? The match was played to completion and on time. If TT feels the match is one sided, and of course it was, then don't put it up for prediction. This is getting irritating.

The finals are here, and we scramble for the best finish. I've been chasing "King" all year and I was able to shrink the spread a little. Skelp is also closing the gap.

Seasons best to all the regulars in our league.

Will you all be back in the new year.?

Steffi Graf completed a Golden Slam (not just a career Grand Slam) when she was 19. She is the only person to accomplish that, winning the four majors plus Olympic gold the same calendar year.
