Medvedev justifies his separation from Simon: "We're too different".
Daniil Medvedev is in Marseille to play the Open 13, where on Thursday he won his first match without conceding a set, a first since November 2024.
Present at the press conference, he justified the end of his collaboration with Gilles Simon, which lasted just under a year.
He said: "He gave me a lot. His ideas and his vision of work were fantastic. It's just that we're too different in certain areas.
We haven't managed to find a common language, which is very important for a player and a coach.
That's the only reason we've decided to end our cooperation.
But I think he can really help the next player he works with."
Medvedev will face Jan-Lennard Struff this Friday for a place in the semi-finals.
